The definition of workflows and models related to GIS and geodata is a logical step towards the automation and standardization of processes. In this context the ETL term is often introduced. ETL describes the process of data transformation: Extract, Transform and Load. There are a lot of modeling and ETL tools, e.g. FME, GeoKettle or Geospatial Talend.
A short introduction to ETL and and Spatial Talend can be found in our Blog.
We support you in automating GIS processes:
- Creating templates with different ETL tools (FME, Geosptial Talend, GeoKettle …)
- Preparation of legacy data (e.g. digitizing, georeferencing, vectorizing of maps, arial images)
- Data type conversion, transformation of spatial reference systems, geocoding
- Shell scripting or Python scripting for recurring workflows
